Additional insights are derived from the American Academy of Pediatrics Red Book 2009. Meanwhile, information pertaining to cystic fibrosis is drawn from the 2003 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Guideline titled “Infection Control Recommendations for patients with cystic fibrosis: microbiology, important pathogens, and infection control practices to prevent patient-to-patient transmission”.
