About us: This app was developed by Amaran Moodley and Richard Lee in collaboration with Hipposoft, LLC at the University of California, San Diego. It incorporates guidelines from the 2007 “Guideline for Isolation Precautions: preventing transmission of infectious agents in healthcare settings” with permission from the Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee at the CDC. Additional insights are derived from the American Academy of Pediatrics Red Book 2009. Meanwhile, information pertaining to cystic fibrosis is drawn from the 2003 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Guideline titled “Infection Control Recommendations for patients with cystic fibrosis: microbiology, important pathogens, and infection control practices to prevent patient-to-patient transmission”.
